Hi Crafter's
I have joined in this week with the challenge over at "Less is More" the brief this week is a one layer card using ink. It's been a while since I have joined in with a challenge.
This appealed to me and thought I would have a go. I have not messed about with ink in this way before.
Using distress refill inks.
For my first attempt I dropped a few spots of colour onto a glass cutting mat. I then masked off the area of my card blank where I didn't want any colour and I then pressed my card onto the ink, then blotted away the excess ink with a scrap piece of paper.
The inking looked a bit like a stormy sky so I stamped the grass and the birds and the sentiment.
I enjoyed this so much I had to have another go but when I tried doing it the same way all I got was a muddy mess. The first was a fluke.
So for my next card I used the ink refills again but this time I used just two colours this time I spread them on to an acrylic block and then stamped that onto my card blank.
This looked a bit brighter so I used a poppy stamp from Clarity Stamps coloured using Zig Art and Graphic twin tip pens.
I felt I had more control this way so had another go with the same method.
I wasn't sure whether or not I liked this one and was unsure if I should finish it or chuck it in the bin..........
I decided to stamp it with balloon stamps from Clarity Stamps. and a sentiment from Hobby Art sentiment set.
I'm still not sure about this but thought I would show it to you anyway.
I enjoyed making these cards with this method cos you never know what you are going to get and that was half the fun. Thanks Chrissie and Mandi for the challenge.
Thank you for stopping by and paying my little blog a visit. Let me know what you think I do love reading your comments.

I think they are all wonderful, but will admit the second one is my favorite. I love how you colored the flower against the wonderful background.

I like all of these, but my favourite is the stormy night one :)
wow-your little scenes are incredible....I really like what you have done here!
Beautiful cards!!
These are all beautiful Susan... and welcome to "Less is More"!
I'm so glad you had fun... I imagine that with the right overstamping even the 'Muddy mess' would look terrific.
It's amazing how a background is altered once other stamping has been added.
These are fab submissions, thanks so much, we hope to see you again next week.

Gosh they are all great, love the background you have created, I really struggled with this and love the stamps and sentiments :)
All three are fabulous! I want to try that technique now.
Three fab results - great to try new techniques isn't it? Love your balloon card - it's our local balloon fiesta this weekend and almost 100 have taken off this morning and we've been able to see them from our window
