I don't know why the challenge at the Less is More blog site has been bugging me this week. I can't stop thinking about this one so I have had to do another card.
This time I have made my self a square mask and used it to sponge through. The idea came from Ikki at Ikki's Cuttlebug cupboard and has done a fab tutorial on how.
Here is my second card.
I sponged first with Distress ink Worn lipstick, then with brushed corduroy over the top.
I then drew around the squares with a brown pencil to make them stand out more.
I stamped the butterfly's onto the design and onto a spare piece of card, coloured them and cut them out to give the card a bit of dimension.
The squares looked a bit empty so I used the mask again and stamped a floral image with the brushed corduroy.
I really enjoyed making this one. I used stamps that had been in my cupboard and never used. I had bought them back in the day when I first started out and didn't get to grips with stamping cos I didn't have a clue about what I was doing so gave up with it. I got back into stamping a couple of years ago and love it now.
Well I hope I've got that out of my system now .....LOL . Hope you like it.

This really is a trompe l'oeil! It looks for all the world as if you have used an applique technique on those squares. What brilliant sponging and stamping! The outlining is very effective too!
