Getting the hang of Brayering with Inkadinks

Hi Crafters,

I am enjoying my self so much at the mo.

A couple of weeks ago I got my self a brayer, and had a go with it after watching a very clever lady at the NEC hobbycraft show in Birmingham.
Well I can tell you I was not happy with any of my efforts. I got more tram lines than a little.
So I thought it was not for me and went back to sponging instead........ Until today.......
I had to have another go at it.
So I watched a few tutorials on YouTube, got out my Inkadinks,  my very clean and very new brayer and my card stock.
After a few practice runs I started to get the hang of it. .... It is so easy LOL..... once you know how LOL .

I had to stamp the butterfly's cos in my excitement I smudged the card.




For this card I used....
Inkadinks,
Stazon,
KanBan clear stamps,
Glossy white card stock,
Black Bazzil card,
White base card .

Embossing paste rose

Hi Everyone,

Ohooooo I just love experimenting.

I have made my own embossing paste for this card, coloured with Inkadinks. I used a Rose brass stencil for the image, the same stencil was used on an earlier card. I heat embossed that one.

For this card I used....
White base card
Kraft card
Backing paper from G C D Studios
Embossing paste
Inkadinks
Sticky Pearls

Cuttlebugged Wedding Invitations

Hi Crafters,

I was recently asked if I would make some wedding invitations. Of course I accepted the request and made up a few samples for her. Here is the one she chose.......

I'm rather pleased she liked this one. It meant I could get my Cuttlebug out and emboss with the swirls embossing folder.

As you may be able to see in the photo I have partially embossed the folder. I did this by placing a thick piece of card over the portion I wanted to emboss. 

 Here is the same design but in a different colour way.

Getting Krafty with cards

Hi Crafters,

I have a couple of cards to show you. The card stock I have used is one of my all time favourites and haven't been able to get for a long time but a couple of weeks ago I managed to get my hands on some (Yipeeee!!!!!!)

I just love this kraft card.
Any way I have made a simple little card with a retro flower punch and a bit of mat and layering. I just love how the colours look together. Reminds me of coffee and raspberry ice cream  with chocolate chips, mmmmm lovely.

This second card has been kept very simple. I have used a brass stencil to emboss this rose with heat embossing powder.

Silhouettes I think I'm hooked

I think I am hooked on these at the mo. I have made two more silhouette cards, I had made another one but I went and ruined it by adding too much and it ended up in the bin.

In both cards I have used Inkadinks to paint the background.
To create the background I used torn paper as a stencil for the hills and a piece of paper with a hole punched out to use as a stencil for the sun. Simple.

I stamped a tree in Stazon.
I used a tree stamp from the KanBan range of clear stamps.
The bushy look was created with a stamp from the Laura Ashley Collage Stamp Set by Trimcraft. 

I used the same stencils as before in this card but as you can see I have created a very different background. To create the look of the water I used a Rigger brush (Fine line brush Size 1). I turned the pic on its side and used an up n down loose flicking motion with the brush until I got the look I was after.

Two Easle cards

Happy Easter to you all.

I've just thought I haven't made any Easter cards at all this year. Oh well to late now

Any way I have two very different cards to show you the first one is quite spring like. I have done this card before but have revamped it.  The original card was done way before I started this blog.

The inspiration for  the original card was from Splitcoast Stampers site. The flowers are made using a Dahlia Fold. it is very easy and effective and looks best when using double sided papers. You can find a tutorial for the folding of the flowers HERE




The second card I want to show you is very different.

I have done another silhouette card I am getting a bit hooked on these.

The back ground was painted with Inkadinks this time onto glossy card stock using a sponge dauber and a fine liner paint brush.

The image is a silhouette peeloff .

I think the back ground on this card is much better than the first one I showed you a few days ago.
